Vice President of Professional Services                                                      Location: Ramsey, NJ

DecuSoft, Inc., a leading provider of Compose – a specialized cloud-based compensation management software that simplifies the administration of complex variable pay programs. Compose offers a replacement for Excel spreadsheets, a company’s home-grown system, or can be used in conjunction with a Human Capital Management solution like Workday, SAP, Oracle Ultimate Software, etc.  Compose users report a marked improvement in data integrity and a decrease in the time and resources required to plan, implement and manage compensation cycles.


Compose was designed by compensation experts with a deep knowledge and understanding of the challenges compensation professionals face managing unique compensation plan types and provides them an unparalleled tool with a great deal of flexibility and the capability to handle a high degree of complexity.  The platform is supported by a team of, in-house, dedicated professionals that have a deep understanding of our customer’s unique compensation plans, allowing DecuSoft to provide dedicated service and support and ultimately becoming an extension of their team.


The Compose software platform is highly configurable allowing the DecuSoft implementation team to create personalized solutions for each of our customers. DecuSoft has adopted a 4 – 6 month iterative implementation methodology to onboard new customers. A new customer typically moves through Design, Data Collection & Normalization, Data Import, Site Configurations, Beta Testing, and Site Refinement during the implementation process. Once the customer is live, a dedicated team provides ongoing support for enhancements, bug fixes, and training.




The DecuSoft VP of Professional Services will be responsible for managing all facets of the implementation process. This includes adhering to the methodology, managing a team of implementation analysts and technical managers, managing customer expectations, setting delivery milestones, and delivering an end-product and referenceable experience that will keep our customers as ‘raving fans’ that continue to renew their subscription to the platform.


The high level and detailed responsibilities are documented below:


Reports to: Chief Executive Officer


Strategy and Planning:

  • As a member of the DecuSoft senior management team, identify opportunities and risks essential for the delivery of DecuSoft’s product and services. This includes the identification of opportunities for innovation as well as technical obstacles to DecuSoft business success.

  • Work alongside the DecuSoft Product Development and Product Management teams to identify and communicate product enhancements required to satisfy the needs of our customer base.

  • Build the professional services organization to address the needs of our customers. Identify bottlenecks in the process and develop a strategy to streamline the process.

  • Develop innovative implementation tracks for different sized customers and in-markets.

  • When the next generation DecuSoft product is released, develop a new methodology and staffing plan that adheres to new technologies and features.


Revenue & Profitability:

  • Work with the Sales, Marketing, and Executive team to develop and execute a plan for revenue generation.

  • Manage the Professional Services P&L. Set utilization targets. Manage headcount required to meet targets. Report results to DecuSoft, Inc. management and the Board of Directors.

  • Manage non-billable activities.

  • Proactively team with Sales and Account Management to effectively manage the overall client relationship and to upsell additional products and services to the customer.



  • Manage the Professional Services team – includes hiring and firing decisions, staffing assignments, staff growth & development, performance reviews, and workload balancing.

  • Mentor new hires and junior resources.

  • Develop and implement a professional services training program.

  • Serve as the escalation point to customers. Resolve issues and build confidence amongst the team.

  • Grow and further enhance the DecuSoft implementation methodology.

  • Review monthly billable time, prepare professional services invoice details, and ensure any invoice questions are expeditiously addressed.


Business Development:

  • In sales situations where required, position the DecuSoft, Inc. implementation methodology and team capabilities.

  • Participate in customer business requirement gathering and scoping sessions.

  • Participate in selling situations and perform application demonstrations when required.

  • Craft and submit DecuSoft implementation proposals and statements of work (SOWs) when required.

  • Participate in customer/prospect marketing events (i.e., ACG events, Conferences, User Groups).


Customer Management:

  • Serve as the overall Account Manager for large and/or strategic customers.

  • Ensure that time tracking and status reporting are completed in a timely and methodical manner.

  • Ensure high quality project deliverables are delivered to customers on agreed upon target dates.

  • Resolve issues promptly with customers and DecuSoft, Inc. team members.

  • Implement and “sell” change requests when necessary.

  • Ensure customers are provided the proper level of support and are “referenceable” following a successful implementation.

  • Ensure that all configurations are implemented to the DecuSoft blueprint (functional specifications).

  • Work with customers to develop go-live press releases.


Partner Management:

  • Manage implementation partner relationships. Ensure services are properly scoped and subcontracted as applicable. 

  • For product integration partners, ensure that the service is utilized properly on customer implementations.


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Industry

    • Understanding and experience in the Human Capital Management (HCM) space.

    • Be able to quickly learn “Compensation” to build confidence in the team’s credibility with prospects and new customers.

  • Professional Services

    • Experience managing a professional services organization.  A project management background is critical.

    • Experience developing a custom implementation methodology and growing that methodology as the team’s capabilities grow.

    • Proven ability to work with new software products and “figure out” how to implement and make it work for customers.

  • Enterprise Software / SaaS

    • Experience implementing enterprise or SaaS software in either a consulting or software company.

    • Proven ability to work across and between departments within a software company.  Proven working relationship with Sales, Product Development, and Customer Support.

  • Technical

    • Understanding of the Microsoft technical stack and how the layers work together.

    • Experience designing custom software modules.  Proven ability to interpret customer requirements into software design.

    • Understanding of cloud computing and hosting infrastructure (Amazon Web Services).

  • Customer Service

    • Whatever it takes mentality – 24x7 service mindset

    • Ability to properly set expectations around bug remediation and delivery timeframes

  • General

    • 5-7 years of senior management experience as a member of a firm’s leadership team

    • Four-year university degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, business or other related IT/Business discipline. An advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
